Quality recognition for AMTRICobble

AMTRICobble has received certification to ISO9001:2008 as part of its on-going quality compliance programme.
The Macclesfield company designs specialised machinery for the manufacturing and process industries. It helps companies to solve production and handling problems, improve productivity and introduce new technology.
‘Accreditation is vital,’ explains Director & General Manager, Ian Laven.

Designs on growth

Specialist machinery builder AMTRI COBBLE has appointed three new mechanical design engineers to strengthen its project teams as the business continues to expand. The company was launched in January this year and is backed by capital equipment manufacturer Cobble.
Paul Robinson, Allen Bullock and Andy Goldstraw will be based at the company’s Macclesfield office, which opened in June. They previously worked at the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Institute (AMTRI), which ceased trading in 2007.

A new design company is being set up in Macclesfield in a bid to secure the future of its £30m-turnover Blackburn-based parent.
AMTRI Cobble, which opened its offices in May, will design and engineer a range of manufacturing machinery for all manner of clients. It will operate as a separate venture within the 300-strong Cobble Group, which specialises in manufacturing carpet machinery at its plants in Blackburn, China and the US.

AMTRI Cobble appointment

John Pearce has joined newly established machinery builder AMTRI Cobble as sales manager.
The company is already working on several project proposals and John’s initial task will be to raise awareness of AMTRI Cobble and the solutions it offers amongst leading manufacturers.
John has an MSc in engineering and management from Cranfield and has held senior manufacturing, marketing and technical positions in industry. He has also run his own business building special purpose machinery and most recently, a consultancy that advised international companies on the introduction of advanced technology.

AMTRI Cobble is a new venture backed by Cobble, the Blackburn manufacturer of capital equipment. It will develop specialised machinery, which will be designed and built in Britain for customers across industry. It will operate as a separate division within the Cobble Group and use the Blackburn factory’s manufacturing facilities.
